Cyndi Tryon Receives 3rd Annual 2023 Good Neighbour Award
In 2023, the spirit of the Kahshe community continued to thrive long after the summer season had faded away. For any Kahshe year-round resident, this sentiment resonated deeply. It all began in 2020 when resident Cyndi Tryon orchestrated a COVID-friendly Trick or Treat extravaganza along Tryon, Hastings, and North and South Kahshe roads. Ingeniously, she adorned participating houses with vibrant orange Trick or Treat stop signs, inviting dozens of eager children to partake in the festive fun. The event was such a resounding success that Cyndi decided to extend the community's camaraderie to the holiday season with the inception of the Kahshe Lake Christmas parade and food drive.
Since its inception, both events have blossomed into beloved traditions that show no signs of slowing down. The annual Kahshe Lake Halloween Haunt has become a spine-tingling spectacle, boasting a Haunted Barn that delights and spooks local children and even a few brave adults. Meanwhile, the Christmas Parade has evolved to be led by a grand fire truck, its flashing lights and blaring sirens igniting the festive spirit throughout Kahshe. Moreover, the parade now serves as a beacon of generosity, collecting hundreds of pounds of donated food to support those in need during the holiday season.
Cyndi fondly refers to these initiatives as "Kahshe Kind," a testament to the community's unwavering compassion and unity. To us, Cyndi stands as the epitome of Kahshe's finest, her dedication and selflessness embodying the true essence of what it means to be a part of this remarkable community.
