Ross Edwin O’Brien (Sept 13, 1918 — Feb 2, 2012)
Ross Edward O’Brien was born Friday, September 13th, 1918 in Toronto Ontario. He spent every summer of his life at Kahshe Lake, with the exception of his time in the army during World War II. Kahshe Lake was my father’s favorite place to be. He and his five brothers and one sister were often to be found circling each other in his or her boat driving the neighbours crazy. Mr. Mutch was known to say, "Can't you all get in one boat?"
He married Dorothy Allan in 1941 and they purchased their property in the early fifties. He was active in the Housey's Rapids Cottagers’ Association for many years and served as president for several years. When the Housey's Rapids Cottagers’ Association eventually merged with the Kahshe Lake Ratepayers’ Association, he continued to be a member. He passed away on February 2, 2012, at the age of 93. He will be sorely missed by his family and his many friends on the Lake.
