The 74th Annual Kermit Long Fishing Derby Results

We had a great day at the 74th Annual Kermit Long Fishing Derby. A total of 150 entries were logged and 89 children out there fishing. This was the best turnout we have had in several years. Trophies and cash prizes for all categories as well as grand prize giftpacks were awarded to the top three entries for each
category — $10, $7, and $5.

Grand Prizes were a GARMIN fish finder, a fishing rod, two x $50 Bass Pro gift cards, a minnow and tackle box plus lures and cash! All participants and those who fished with no luck received a loot bag with lures and candy.

Thank you to the KBLA, Paul Caswell from Denne’s Marina for opening up his docks for measuring, our in-person volunteers; Sebastian Lajoie; Ryan, Mark and Nick Swirla; and Ray, Maureen, Matt and Jen Gregory who were at the dock early morning eagerly measuring fish and logging entries.

This year was the best yet for support, we are very grateful for all the donations we received – everything from cash, fishing gear, candy for loot bags to lunch for the volunteers, we are overwhelmed with the support from our Kahshe friends.
