Armin Hahn Receives 11th Annual 2026 Volunteer of the Year Award
With great pleasure, we wish to recognize Armin Hahn as the 11th recipient of the Kahshe and Bass Lakes Association (KBLA) Volunteer of the Year Award. For the past two seasons, Armin has volunteered his time and energy to assist the Rock Marker Committee with the removal and installation of the lake rock markers.
Armin has consistently stepped up to help with this task, regardless of weather conditions or temperatures while always bringing a smile and a positive attitude. He has spent over three decades making memories in Muskoka. Three years ago, with the encouragement of his close friend Jay Smith, he made Muskoka his home. Married for 48 years, Armin is also the founder of Handyman Haven Muskoka.
Whether volunteering on Kahshe Lake or working with his hands, Armin is very proud to support and volunteer in this amazing community. Armin adds a welcome presence to the crew and thanks to Jay Smith, JVS Landscaping, who helped us recruit him along with the recruitment of several others. We are fortunate to have Armin as a dedicated volunteer, neighbour, and community supporter.
As one community member shared:
“Armin’s philosophy is simple: it takes 72 muscles to frown and only 14 to smile—so when he leaves, he makes sure you’re using those 14.”
Another noted:
“Armin is a valued member of our lake community, always willing to lend a helping hand wherever it is needed.”
