Elizabeth (Liz) Strathdee (1930 — Apr 12, 2018)

After lengthy complications from an unfortunate accident, Elizabeth Anne Strathdee (nee Ysselstyn) in her 88th year, passed away peacefully at Humber River Hospital on Thursday, April 12, 2018. She was predeceased by her husband Donald Strathdee, her sister Alexandra (Saunie) Hunter, and survived by her brother John Boucher (Sonia), her niece Jain McMillan (Paul), nephew John Hunter (Christa Cameron), and her great-nephew Cameron Hunter.

Liz Ysselstyn met Carolyn Smith and Dorothy (Liz) Keen at Nagaya Beach around 1938, all three the children of fairly early cottagers on the Lake; the Smiths and the Keens on Keenview Island and the Ysselstyns on Fern Road and Oak Road before there was a road. The three girls grew up at the lake together — playing on Nagaya Beach and attending community events like the annual wiener roast. Carolyn Smith later married Jim Keen, Liz married Donald Strathdee, and Lizzie Keen married Dennis Morrison, and the three couples enjoyed many good times together over the next few decades. Liz will be dearly missed by her godchildren, her relatives, and her many friends.
