Best Kahshe Advice

"If you don’t know the lake, follow another boat."

Favourite Kahshe Memory

My son and I were fishing in a rather enclosed bay, and while we could hear thunder, the sky above us was blue. However, when we pulled out of the bay to return to the cottage, the black clouds rolled in, the rain came in torrents, and the lightning and thunder were far too close. We hastened back to the cottage at full speed in an under-powered pontoon boat with both of us lying flat on the floor of the boat (and me steering from that position). My family saw their boat coming in the rain with no visible person on it. It was one of the most bizarre things they had ever seen. We made it back very wet but alive, and the story has gone down in the annals of family Kahshe history rehearsed year after year now with the grandchildren who love to hear of their father’s and grandfather’s rather terrifying experience. We still fish that bay, and it’s fondly called “Thunderstorm Bay” by our family.
